Mrs. Carrie Smeltzer first started fighting cancer in December of 2011. Doctors named her free of cancer nearly 6 months after the beginnings of her fight, but later learned cancerous cells remained in her body.
Smeltzer entered "Round 2" of her fight and continues fighting today.
In response to Smeltzer's battle, a t-shirt sale was put together by Red Lion alumnus Andrew Zeller and school district technology coach Mrs. Samantha Smith which ended up raising $1,500 for Smeltzer and her family.
Smeltzer was given the money at a tear-jerking surprise visit by Zeller on November 1 after she was set up by her co-workers to "go to a meeting" after school.
The video of the surprise visit can be seen here.
A new round of t-shirts are available for purchase until January 12, 2014 through H & L Team Sales located in Lancaster, PA.
