A recently created Twitter account is geared to boost the image of Red Lion and recognize student achievement through tweets. The “Lion’s Roar” Twitter account (@RLlionsroar) was created in early March by an anonymous student.
The student decided to remain anonymous to keep the attention on “student achievement”.
Although the name “The Lion’s Roar” is similar to the high school blog’s name, according to the account manager the account is not affiliated with the Lion’s Roar Blog operated by assistant principal Kate Diorio.
The idea to create the account followed after Twitter pages such as “Red Lion Confessions” launched their way into social media.
“These days, people on social media are so quick to be judgmental and negative towards people they don’t know, their friends, family, etc. It has really gotten out of hand,” writes the account manager in an e-mail.
“With this account, we can share what is happening in the lives of students at Red Lion who are accomplishing big things or want to make shout outs to their friends who are working hard.”
