Senior Peyton Shima is gearing up for her last season as a lady lion lacrosse player and hopes it’s a special one.
The standout athlete averaged 3.2 goals and 1.3 assists per game last year. “My brother started playing when he was in second grade and I was jealous,” she said. “He inspired me.”
Shima said that one of her personal goals this year is to hit 200 career high school goals. On Thurs. April 19, she achieved this goal and scored her 200th goal against Dover.
As far as the team, she hopes they can make both the district and county tournaments and advance past the first round of both.
After high school, Peyton is attending Seton Hill University to play Division II Lacrosse and study business law.
If you want to watch Peyton and the rest of the seniors, Senior Night is home on April 30 at 7 p.m. against Dallastown.
