Spring Track made a statement last year by bringing home their first county championship in over a decade. “I am hoping we can build on the momentum from last year and reach even higher heights this year,” head coach of girl’s track Jason Smith said.
Jason Smith has been coaching track at Red Lion since 2004 and is on his fourth year as the girl’s head coach.
Smith said that the most rewarding part of coaching track is, “interacting with and seeing each athlete develop throughout the season.”
“It doesn’t matter if they are a state, district, county champion, someone who simply enjoys being part of the team or anyone in between, there is no greater feeling than seeing the look of accomplishment on their faces at the end of the season,” Smith said.
Boy’s head coach Todd Barshinger
looks to have a rewarding season for his team as well, as they currently stand atop of the division as defending YAIAA champions.
